Description

White Garlic Pizza Sauce is a creamy, garlicky alternative to marinara that transforms any pizza or flatbread into a rich, flavorful favorite. Made with real butter, Parmesan, and fresh garlic, this easy sauce is perfect for white pizza, garlic bread, dipping, or even pasta.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 34 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups whole milk or half-and-half
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring often until fragrant.

  3. Whisk in the flour to form a smooth roux; cook for 1 additional minute.

  4. Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3–4 minutes until thickened.

  6. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and mix until melted and smooth.

  7. Season with salt, pepper, and optional Italian herbs.

  8. Let cool slightly before spreading on pizza dough or using as a dip.

Notes

  • Use a mix of milk and heavy cream for extra richness.
  • Add red pepper flakes for heat or fresh herbs for a flavor boost.
  • For a cheesier sauce, mix in shredded mozzarella or fontina.
  • Makes enough for 2 medium pizzas or 1½ cups of sauce.
  • Not freezer-friendly—store in the fridge up to 4 days.
