Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried oregano
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- 8 oz uncooked pasta (penne, rotini, or shells)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft, about 3–4 minutes.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in garlic, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add beef broth and cream, then stir in uncooked pasta.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce is thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Add vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or peas for extra nutrition.
- Swap beef for ground turkey or sausage for variation.
- For a tomato-forward version, stir in marinara or diced tomatoes.
- Mix in shredded mozzarella or cheddar for a cheesier finish.
