These Steakhouse Garlic Butter Mushrooms are rich, savory, and full of umami flavor. Sautéed with garlic, herbs, and butter, they’re the perfect steakhouse-style side dish. Ready in just 20 minutes, these tender mushrooms pair beautifully with steak, chicken, or pasta.
Ingredients
- 1 lb whole cremini or white button mushrooms, cleaned
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1–2 sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Splash of white wine or broth (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add whole mushrooms and let them cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes to brown.
- Stir and continue cooking for 8–10 minutes, until mushrooms release moisture and begin to caramelize.
- Add garlic and herbs, cooking for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Deglaze the pan with a splash of wine or broth (if using) and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Finish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

- For added flavor, stir in a splash of balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, or a spoonful of cream or Parmesan.
