These Spicy Louisiana Voodoo Fries are crispy, cheesy, and smothered in a bold Cajun-style sauce that brings serious heat and flavor—perfect as an appetizer, party food, or late-night indulgence.
Ingredients
- For the fries:
- 1 bag frozen French fries (or homemade hand-cut fries)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or cooking spray
- 1–2 tsp Cajun seasoning
- For the Voodoo sauce:
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1–2 tbsp hot sauce (Louisiana-style or preferred)
- 1 tsp Creole mustard or Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Optional: squeeze of lemon juice
- Toppings:
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
- ½ cup cooked, crumbled chicken or beef (optional)
- Pickled jalapeños, to taste
- Chopped green onions or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Bake or air-fry the fries according to package directions or until golden and crispy.
- While hot, season the fries with Cajun seasoning.
- In a bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients until smooth.
- Arrange the fries on a serving dish or skillet. Drizzle the Voodoo sauce over the top.
- Sprinkle with cheese, jalapeños, and any optional protein.
- Broil for 1–2 minutes, just until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crunch, double-fry or air-fry the potatoes.
- Sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 1 week.
