Ingredients

  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • 12 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Toss with Cajun seasoning until evenly coated.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and lightly seared.
  4. In the last minute of cooking, stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
  5. Add lemon juice, toss everything together, and remove from heat.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions and serve hot.

Notes

  • Make your own Cajun seasoning with paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme.
  • Add bell peppers or onions to the skillet for extra veggies.
  • For a creamy variation, stir in a splash of cream or a dollop of sour cream.
  • Serve over rice, pasta, grits, or in tacos.
  • Use olive oil for a dairy-free version.
