Description

Salmon & Pea Pasta is a creamy, one-pan pasta dish made with flaked salmon, sweet green peas, and a light cream sauce. It’s quick, comforting, and perfect for weeknight dinners in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (penne, fusilli, or preferred shape)
  • 1 salmon fillet, cooked and flaked
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 shallot or 1/4 onion, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh dill or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic and shallot until soft and fragrant.
  3. Add peas and cook until heated through, about 3 minutes.
  4. Pour in cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add flaked salmon and gently warm through.
  6. Add pasta to the skillet and toss with sauce. Use reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh dill or parsley and an extra squeeze of lemon if desired.

Notes

  • Use smoked or canned salmon for convenience and variety.
  • Swap peas with spinach, broccoli, or asparagus as alternatives.
  • For a dairy-free version, use plant-based cream and vegan Parmesan.
  • Adjust creaminess by adding pasta water gradually.
  • Great for leftovers and meal prep—reheats well with a splash of liquid.
