Description

Roasted Parmesan Creamed Onions are a rich and elegant side dish featuring caramelized roasted onions smothered in a savory Parmesan cream sauce — the perfect accompaniment to any comforting or special-occasion meal.


Ingredients

  • 6 small to medium yellow or sweet onions, peeled and halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Optional: fresh thyme or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice peeled onions in half through the root and arrange cut-side down in a baking dish.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
  4. Roast for 30–40 minutes, flipping halfway, until onions are golden and tender.
  5. While onions roast, combine heavy cream, minced garlic, and Parmesan in a saucepan over low heat. Simmer gently until slightly thickened, about 5–7 minutes.
  6. Pour the cream sauce over the roasted onions and return to the oven for 10–15 minutes, until bubbly and lightly golden on top.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve warm.
