Description

This Quick & Simple Donut Recipe makes soft, fluffy donuts without yeast. Perfectly golden and customizable with glazes or sugar, they come together in under 30 minutes for a fast, delicious treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil, for frying
  • Optional: powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, chocolate glaze, vanilla glaze

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients to form a soft, slightly sticky dough.
  5. Lightly flour a surface, roll dough to 1/2 inch thick, and cut out donut shapes.
  6. Fry a few donuts at a time for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  8. Once slightly cooled, coat with glaze or sugar as desired.
