Description

Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie is an easy, comforting dinner recipe that delivers all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger in cozy pie form. Made with seasoned ground beef, melty cheddar cheese, and a simple Bisquick topping, this family-friendly dish is perfect for busy weeknights or nostalgic comfort food cravings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp ketchup or tomato paste
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup Bisquick or all-purpose baking mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish.

  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with chopped onion and garlic until browned and the onion is soft.

  3. Season with salt, pepper, ketchup, and mustard if using. Stir to combine, then spread the beef mixture evenly in the pie dish.

  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and baking mix until smooth.

  5. Pour the batter over the beef. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.

  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and center is set.

  7. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with optional toppings as desired.

Notes

  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add jalapeños or pickles to the beef mixture for extra flavor.
  • Swap cheddar for Colby Jack, mozzarella, or a cheese blend.
  • Make your own Bisquick: mix 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1½ tsp baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  • For a Tex-Mex twist, use taco seasoning and pepper jack cheese.
