Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 5 egg yolks
- 1 to 1½ teaspoons freshly ground black pepper (adjust to taste)
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions

In a saucepan, combine milk, cream, and sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
