Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups pasta (elbow, penne, or rotini)
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- 2 tbsp cream cheese or sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning or smoked paprika (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
-
In a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
-
Add diced onion and garlic. Sauté 2–3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
-
Stir in pasta, beef broth, salt, pepper, and seasoning. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover.
-
Simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and most liquid is absorbed.
-
Stir in heavy cream, cream cheese (if using), and shredded cheese. Mix until smooth and creamy.
-
Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Add frozen peas, spinach, or chopped bell peppers for more veggies.
- Swap beef for ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Use gluten-free pasta or dairy-free alternatives if needed.
- For spice, stir in chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
- Smoked paprika adds great depth and a smoky twist.
