Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1/3 cup neutral oil (canola, vegetable, or sunflower)
- 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8-inch round or square baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Make a well in the center and add milk, oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
- Mix until just combined—do not overmix.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
