Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- For the topping:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or garlic salt)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 7–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide dough into 12 equal pieces, roll into logs, and place on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Cover loosely and let rise again for 20–30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake breadsticks for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
- While warm, brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder and salt. Serve immediately.

- Sprinkle with Parmesan or Italian seasoning before baking for extra flavor.
- Mix shredded mozzarella into the dough or stuff with cheese for a cheesy version.
