Description

Lemon Honey Glazed Chicken is a quick and flavorful dish featuring juicy chicken coated in a sweet and tangy lemon-honey glaze—perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining guests.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce or Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Fresh thyme or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add lemon juice, lemon zest, honey, and soy sauce or Dijon (if using). Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon glaze over it. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes until well coated.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.

Notes

  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Substitute or add orange juice/zest for a deeper citrus flavor.
  • Use bone-in thighs or drumsticks and adjust cooking time accordingly.
  • Try oven-roasting the chicken with the glaze for a sticky finish.
