Description

This Homemade Guacamole Recipe is fresh, creamy, and bursting with bold flavor. Made with ripe avocados, lime juice, red onion, tomato, and cilantro, it’s the perfect dip or topping for tacos, chips, burritos, or toast. Quick to make and better than store-bought!

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 12 tbsp fresh lime juice (to taste)
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Roma tomato, diced
  • 1 small jalapeño or serrano pepper, minced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: 1 minced garlic clove, ¼ tsp cumin, pinch of chili powder

Instructions

  • Cut avocados in half, remove pits, and scoop flesh into a bowl.
  • Mash avocados with a fork to desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
  • Stir in lime juice, red onion, tomato, jalapeño (if using), cilantro, and salt.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning—add more lime or salt if needed.
  • Serve immediately or store with plastic wrap pressed against the surface to keep fresh.

Notes

  • For a fruity twist, stir in diced mango or pineapple.
  • Add chipotle or smoked paprika for a smoky variation.
  • Mix in sour cream or Greek yogurt for a creamier guacamole.
  • Best made fresh; minimize browning with lime juice and airtight storage.
