Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1.5 lbs yellow or red potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté onion and garlic until softened and fragrant, about 3–4 minutes.
- Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Cook until browned and fully cooked through.
- Stir in thinly sliced potatoes and toss to coat with beef and seasonings.
- Cover the skillet and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender.
- Uncover, sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top, and cook for another 5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with green onions or parsley before serving.
