Description

Hearty Skillet Beef and Potato Bake is a one-pan comfort dish combining seasoned ground beef, tender sliced potatoes, and melted cheese for a warm, satisfying meal perfect for any night of the week.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1.5 lbs yellow or red potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic until softened and fragrant, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Cook until browned and fully cooked through.
  4. Stir in thinly sliced potatoes and toss to coat with beef and seasonings.
  5. Cover the skillet and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender.
  6. Uncover, sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top, and cook for another 5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with green onions or parsley before serving.
