Description

These Healthy Turkey Meatballs are low carb, gluten-free, and completely breadcrumb-free! Juicy, flavorful, and packed with herbs and Parmesan, they’re the perfect protein-rich meal for busy weeknights. Serve with marinara, over zoodles, or in lettuce wraps for a clean, satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for dairy-free)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup onion, finely chopped or grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tbsp dried)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, egg, Parmesan, garlic, onion, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined—do not overmix.

  2. Form the mixture into 18–20 small meatballs (about 1 to 1½ inches).

  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs in batches, browning on all sides, about 6–8 minutes total.

  4. Lower the heat and cover the skillet to finish cooking, or transfer meatballs to a preheated 375°F (190°C) oven for 10–12 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  5. Let rest for a few minutes before serving with your favorite low-carb sauce or side.

Notes

  • Add almond flour or ground flaxseed for a firmer texture, if desired.
  • For dairy-free, omit Parmesan or use a dairy-free alternative.
  • Adjust seasoning for different flavor profiles: try cumin and paprika for a taco twist, or ginger and coconut aminos for an Asian vibe.
  • Meatballs can also be baked directly on a lined baking sheet for easier cleanup.
