Description

Grape Crush Cupcakes are a playful, fruity dessert made with grape soda for a nostalgic burst of flavor. These cupcakes feature soft, soda-infused cake and vibrant purple frosting, perfect for parties and fun occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup Grape Crush soda
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tbsp reduced Grape Crush soda (for frosting)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • Purple food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and Grape Crush soda, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide batter evenly among liners, filling each 2/3 full.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  8. Simmer 1/2 cup Grape Crush soda until reduced to 2 tbsp, then cool.
  9. Beat butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar.
  10. Mix in reduced soda and vanilla. Add food coloring if desired.
  11. Pipe or spread frosting on cooled cupcakes. Decorate as desired.

Notes

  • Add lemon zest to batter for a grape-lemon twist.
  • Use white cake mix and grape soda as a shortcut.
  • Stir grape extract into frosting for extra flavor.
  • Make mini cupcakes for party platters.
