Description

Gordon Ramsay’s Shrimp Scampi is a quick, elegant dish featuring shrimp sautéed in garlic, white wine, and lemon butter sauce. It’s bright, rich, and packed with gourmet flavor in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (e.g., Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz linguine or spaghetti (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add shrimp in a single layer, season with salt and pepper, and sear for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add a bit more oil to the pan, then sauté garlic and chili flakes for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in white wine and let simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Stir in lemon juice and zest, then whisk in butter until sauce is smooth and glossy.
  6. Return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately, with or without pasta.
  8. If using pasta, add cooked linguine to the pan and toss with shrimp and sauce before serving.

Notes

  • Add cherry tomatoes or baby spinach for extra color and nutrition.
  • Serve over risotto, rice, or zucchini noodles for variation.
  • Use chicken broth as a non-alcoholic substitute for wine.
  • Reheat gently to avoid overcooking the shrimp.
