Description

Garlic Butter Surf & Turf Steaks combine juicy steak and succulent shrimp, all smothered in rich garlic butter for a decadent, restaurant-quality meal you can make at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye or filet mignon steaks
  • 8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Season steaks with salt and pepper on both sides and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill pan over high heat and add olive oil.
  3. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  5. Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  6. Return steaks to the skillet and spoon garlic butter over both steak and shrimp.
  7. Cook together briefly to meld flavors, about 1–2 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges, if desired.

Notes

  • Swap shrimp for lobster tails for an upscale twist.
  • Add a splash of white wine to the garlic butter for extra depth.
  • Include red pepper flakes for a spicy version.
  • Grill steak and shrimp for a smoky flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge up to 2 days and reheat gently in a skillet with butter.
  • Avoid microwaving to keep shrimp tender.
