Description
Crispy Caramelized Pineapple Rings are lightly battered and pan-fried tropical treats with a golden, crunchy exterior and sweet, juicy center — perfect as a snack, dessert, or a fun side dish.
Ingredients
- 8–10 fresh or canned pineapple rings, drained and patted dry
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup sparkling water or club soda
- Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or sunflower)
- Optional toppings: cinnamon sugar, honey, coconut flakes
Instructions
- Slice fresh pineapple into rings and remove the core if needed. Pat dry thoroughly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually whisk in sparkling water until a smooth, thick batter forms.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F.
- Dip each pineapple ring into the batter, letting excess drip off.
- Fry in batches, 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
- Transfer to paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm with optional toppings like cinnamon sugar, honey, or coconut flakes.
Notes
- Add ground cinnamon or ginger to batter for extra flavor.
- Serve with ice cream for a dessert twist.
- Pan-sear in butter and brown sugar for a lighter, unbattered version.
- Reheat leftovers in oven or air fryer for crispiness.
