Ingredients
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- Salt and black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Paprika
- 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter (for searing)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter (for the sauce)
- 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup chicken broth
- Fresh parsley or thyme, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional: ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
-
Season chicken on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
-
Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken until golden and cooked through (about 4–6 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
-
Reduce heat to medium-low. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
-
Stir in heavy cream and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan. Simmer until slightly thickened (5–7 minutes).
-
Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and cook for another 2–3 minutes to warm through.
-
Garnish with parsley or thyme before serving. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, or bread.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for cream.
- Add parmesan or lemon juice for deeper flavor or brightness.
- Sautéed spinach or mushrooms make excellent add-ins.
- Don’t overcook the chicken—remove once just cooked to keep it juicy.
