Description

Creamy Garlic Chicken is a rich, one-skillet dish featuring tender chicken breasts in a smooth garlic cream sauce, perfect for serving over mashed potatoes, pasta, or rice.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (optional, for dredging)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Optionally, dredge lightly in flour for a golden crust.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear chicken until golden brown on both sides, then remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  4. Add chicken broth, scraping up browned bits, then stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese, if using, for extra richness.
  6. Return chicken to skillet, reduce heat, and simmer for 10–12 minutes or until sauce thickens and chicken is cooked through.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot over mashed potatoes, pasta, or rice.

Notes

  • Add mushrooms, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes for variation.
  • Use half-and-half or a cornstarch slurry for a lighter sauce.
  • Simmer gently after adding cream to prevent curdling.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat gently with extra broth if needed.
