Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta (penne, fettuccine, or your choice)
- 1 lb beef strips or ground beef
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Optional: red pepper flakes, chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Boil a pot of salted water and cook pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium-high heat. Cook beef until browned and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add more oil if needed. Sauté onion until soft, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Pour in beef broth and simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Simmer until sauce thickens slightly.
- Return beef to skillet and stir to coat with the creamy sauce.
- Add cooked pasta and toss until well combined and heated through.
- Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan before serving.
Notes
- Swap beef with chicken or sausage for variety.
- Add mushrooms or spinach for extra texture and nutrients.
- Stir in red pepper flakes or pesto for added flavor.
- Use cream cheese or mascarpone for a richer sauce.
- Use half-and-half instead of cream if preferred, but expect a thinner sauce.
