Description

Creamy English Coffee with Roasted Figs is a cozy, aromatic beverage that blends bold coffee with sweet, caramelized fig puree and creamy milk — a unique, indulgent twist perfect for cool days or elegant dessert moments.

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh ripe figs, halved
  • 12 tsp granulated sugar or honey (optional)
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon (optional, for garnish)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for iced version)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place fig halves cut-side up on a baking tray and sprinkle with sugar or drizzle honey if desired.
  2. Roast figs for 15–20 minutes until softened and caramelized. Let cool slightly.
  3. Brew strong coffee while figs roast.
  4. Blend roasted figs with vanilla extract into a smooth puree.
  5. In a mug, combine brewed coffee, warm milk or cream, and 2–3 tablespoons of fig puree. Stir well.
  6. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired and serve hot. For an iced version, let ingredients cool and shake with ice before serving.

Notes

  • Use dairy-free milk like oat or almond for a vegan version.
  • Add spices like cardamom or nutmeg for depth.
  • Top with whipped cream for a dessert-like experience.
  • Store extra fig puree in the fridge for up to 3 days.
