Description

This Cheesesteak-Stuffed Garlic Bread Loaf combines the bold flavors of a classic cheesesteak with the buttery crunch of garlic bread. Stuffed with tender beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and gooey melted cheese, it’s a crowd-pleasing comfort food favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 large loaf of crusty Italian or French bread
  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 12 bell peppers, sliced (any color)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded or sliced provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Slice the top off the loaf of bread and hollow out the inside, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and bell peppers until soft and caramelized, about 5–7 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, cook steak with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce until browned and cooked through. Mix with the sautéed vegetables.
  5. Melt butter and stir in garlic powder or fresh garlic. Brush the inside of the bread with garlic butter.
  6. Layer half the cheese inside the bread, add the steak and veggie mixture, and top with remaining cheese.
  7. Place the loaf on the baking sheet, cover with foil, and bake for 15–20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5–10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly, then slice and garnish with parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use mushrooms, ground beef, or chicken as filling alternatives.
  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Try different cheeses like cheddar, Swiss, or pepper jack.
  • Brush garlic butter and layer cheese first to prevent soggy bread.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven to maintain crispiness.
