Cake Mix Toffee Bars are chewy, buttery dessert bars made with a yellow cake mix base, layered with chocolate chips and crunchy toffee bits. They’re quick, easy, and perfect for sharing.
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow or butter cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup toffee bits (e.g., Heath bits)
- Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using) to form a thick dough.
- Press dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips and toffee bits over the dough. Add chopped nuts if desired.
- Gently press toppings into the dough.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until edges are golden and center is set.
- Let bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
