Ingredients
- 1/2 lb small shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 oz cream cheese or 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese
- 1 can crescent roll dough, biscuit dough, or pizza dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Chopped parsley or green onions (optional, for garnish)
- Optional: hot sauce, Dijon mustard, or mayo for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning. Sauté in olive oil or butter with garlic for 2–3 minutes per side until just cooked. Remove and cool slightly.
- Roll out dough and cut into squares or circles.
- Mix cooked shrimp with cream cheese or mozzarella and shredded cheddar or pepper jack.
- Spoon filling onto dough pieces. Fold over and seal edges with a fork.
- Place on baking sheet and brush tops with egg wash.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Garnish with parsley or green onions. Serve warm with optional dipping sauce.
Notes
- Add cooked bacon or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- Use sour cream or hot sauce in the filling for added creaminess or heat.
- Use pre-cooked shrimp to save time—just thaw and dry well.
- Make vegetarian with mushrooms or blackened tofu instead of shrimp.
- Freeze before or after baking for an easy meal later.
