Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 bell pepper (any color), diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 toasted hamburger buns
- Optional toppings: hot sauce, sliced green onions, shredded cheese
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onion and bell pepper until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add ground chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Simmer for 8–10 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly and flavors combine.
- Toast the buns and spoon the chicken mixture onto each one.
- Serve hot with optional toppings like hot sauce, green onions, or shredded cheese.
