Description

Baked Cream Cheese Chicken Taquitos are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, made with shredded chicken, cream cheese, and melty cheese for an easy, flavorful comfort food.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie recommended)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
  • 2 tbsp sour cream (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup canned green chiles or chopped jalapeños (optional)
  • 12 small flour or corn tortillas
  • Olive oil or cooking spray (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chicken, cream cheese, shredded cheese, sour cream (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and green chiles or jalapeños. Mix well.
  3. Warm tortillas in the microwave or skillet to make them pliable.
  4. Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of filling onto the lower third of each tortilla and roll tightly.
  5. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Lightly brush or spray tops with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  8. Cool slightly and serve with desired dips.

Notes

  • Warm tortillas to prevent cracking during rolling.
  • Freeze before baking for an easy make-ahead option.
  • Reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
