Description
These air fryer grilled cheese hot dogs are a fun and crispy mashup of two comfort food favorites—hot dogs and grilled cheese—wrapped in buttery bread and air-fried until golden and melty. A quick, family-friendly meal that’s ready in under 15 minutes!
Ingredients
- 4 hot dogs (regular, pre-cooked, or veggie)
- 4 slices sandwich bread (white or whole wheat)
- 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
- 2 tbsp butter (softened)
- Optional: garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, pickles for serving
Instructions
-
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
-
Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
-
On the unbuttered side, place a cheese slice and lay a hot dog diagonally across the bread.
-
Fold or roll the bread around the hot dog and cheese. Press edges gently to hold shape.
-
Place seam-side down in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if needed.
-
Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
-
Let cool slightly, slice if desired, and serve with dipping sauces or toppings.
Notes
- Add shredded cheese to the outer surface for an extra cheesy crust.
- Use a toothpick to secure if bread is stiff or doesn’t hold shape.
- Great with dipping sauces like spicy mustard, ranch, or BBQ.
