Description

These air fryer grilled cheese hot dogs are a fun and crispy mashup of two comfort food favorites—hot dogs and grilled cheese—wrapped in buttery bread and air-fried until golden and melty. A quick, family-friendly meal that’s ready in under 15 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 4 hot dogs (regular, pre-cooked, or veggie)
  • 4 slices sandwich bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter (softened)
  • Optional: garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, pickles for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each bread slice.

  3. On the unbuttered side, place a cheese slice and lay a hot dog diagonally across the bread.

  4. Fold or roll the bread around the hot dog and cheese. Press edges gently to hold shape.

  5. Place seam-side down in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if needed.

  6. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

  7. Let cool slightly, slice if desired, and serve with dipping sauces or toppings.

Notes

  • Add shredded cheese to the outer surface for an extra cheesy crust.
  • Use a toothpick to secure if bread is stiff or doesn’t hold shape.
  • Great with dipping sauces like spicy mustard, ranch, or BBQ.
